The picture above is a picture of the Golden Lion Tamarin, the reason this blog exists. The Golden Lion Tamarin is a New world monkey that has a large golden mane like a lion's, and it is of the tamarin monkey species. It lives in the coastal rain forests off of Rio de Janeiro, and is the closest to extinction of any mammal on earth, not only because of rapid industrial and agricultural growth, but also because their golden skin is extremely valuable. We have to convince people that the Golden Lion Tamarin's need is great, and this cute little monkey has to survive!
